Galway sensation LAOISE fuses insightful lyrics with a beat-driven, electronic sound to craft some of the most irresistible pop music on these shores.
Galway's own exciting new pop artist LAOISE creates a fun atmosphere during her intimate set last night on the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions’ Y&E Series, with her engaging personality shining throughout.
Kicking off her show with 'Seriously', a song about when the person you have feelings for isn't picking up on all of your hints, LAOISE's light-hearted charm mingles effortlessly with her smooth vocals for a memorable acoustic pop performance.
Slowing the pace down for a Repeal-inspired track, 'Again', the singer showed off her talent for relatable yet emotion-based lyricism and connecting with her fans.
'Again' comes from the perspective of navigating the difficulties of a relationship during the Repeal the 8th campaign, when reproductive healthcare rights were being debated for months at a time.
Introducing a chilled out vibe to her set, LAOISE then covered 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac from the iconic Rumours album.

The album has emerged in the charts again in recent weeks following a viral TikTok featuring the hit song.
Describing Stevie Nicks as a major inspiration, LAOISE recalls her dad showing her Fleetwood Mac as a child and recounting the storytelling behind the now-infamous tracklist.
Finishing off with a rendition and debut of her brand new single, 'Healthy', with Sean Behan on keyboards assisting the singer.
LAOISE also speaks about trying to write a song that people will listen to while staying true to herself and her personal music taste, and her therapy journey to finding what's healthy for you individually.
Speaking to Hot Press this week about her new single 'Healthy', LAOISE discussed the origins of the song name:
"It’s called ‘Healthy’, and it took me a while to name the song, but there’s a lyric in the pre-chorus that says, “I don’t’ know why I’m not thinking I’m messing this up, I guess it feels healthy, I’m used to unsteady.” Initially, I wrote that without thinking about the title, but the more I listened to it the more I went, “This is it”.

"It’s about a romantic relationship that I’m in, where I always had this feeling of, “you don’t seem like you’re going to leave, you seem like you’re here for the long haul," LAOISE adds.
"It was weird for me, but I also felt like if they did leave, I wasn’t going to fall apart. It was healthy but not codependent."
Exciting times lie ahead for the pop singer, with her livestream show highlighting her strengths and ability to create a gig environment with intimacy and skilled storytelling.
