The exciting first Dublin show on Lizzy's European tour included multiple unreleased songs.
American singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine began her first ever headline European tour with two sold out nights at Dublin's The Button Factory. The 23 year old's first visit to Dublin was certainly unforgettable: fit with a full crowd, unreleased songs and a passionate performance.
Lizzy was supported by fellow Philadelphian artist Ben Kessler. He and Lizzy have collaborated on a few tracks over the years. The fellow 23-year-old warmed up the audience nicely with his emotional pop R&B tunes, closing with 'I Could Do This All Night.'
Starting off her set with a hard hitter, Lizzy entered with 'an ego thing' from her newest album five seconds flat. The track sounds even more exciting live, with its strong bass and dramatic, almost theatrical vocals. The former Berklee College of Music student is accompanied by drummer Max Flanders and bassist Kelly Rosenthal.

The musician threw it back to 2020 with the somber and emotional breakup track 'Over-the-Ocean Call.' The crowd went wild for this one, especially when Lizzy let them sing the bridge on their own.
Next was 'all my ghosts'- "a song about slurpees." Then, 'firearm'- a song about "ignoring red flags"- which slowly builds to an explosive bridge that the crowd sang along almost as passionately as Lizzy did.
"This is my first headline tour in Europe ever, and the first show. You guys are so special," Lizzy gushed. She explained how excited she is to be performing live, since she released her first album during quarantine and never had the opportunity to tour it. Now fans get the best of both worlds, hearing 2020's Give Me a Minute and 2022's five seconds flat live for the first time together.

Treating the audience to a very special unreleased track that she only wrote earlier that day, she said "forgive me if I forget some words." The song was a beautiful love song that had the audience audibly saying "awww." "I think this is my only fully happy song," the singer joked. She played this one by herself with an acoustic guitar, since that's "how [she] writes most of her songs anyways."
She brought Ben back on stage to sing their collaborative track 'false art,' marking their first time ever performing it live. Lizzy shared another unreleased track called 'come down soon.'
Time for "a classic," Lizzy played 'Pancakes for Dinner', a sweet heartfelt love offering. She perfectly closed the evening with her new album's titular track, 'five seconds flat.'
