On the 3 All For Music Stage, Orla Gartland put on a brilliant performance for day 2 of Electric Picnic.
Dublin's Orla Gartland packed the 3 All For Music tent and managed to take the crowd through every single emotion possible throughout her 40-minute set. "Electric picnic you absolute f*cking flirt," she exclaimed.
First, she instructed us to "be angry" with her for 'Figure it Out'. As she hit flawless high notes, the crowd roared. Next, she moved on to frustration, as she sang 'I Go Crazy': her song about "the time I told a boy I loved him and he didn't say it back."
Reaching "the most tender moment of the set," she introduced 'Why Am I Like This?' which was featured in the Netflix series Heartstopper- known for its LGBTQIA+ representation. She jumped up and down with her guitar in excitement as the crowd sang along every word.
"Thank you for being sad with me," she said before trading in her acoustic guitar for an electric one and proclaiming "it's time to party!" She belted, "I chase the landslide to keep you on my side/ Now I'm holdin' a flatline to make you feel alive" of 'Landslide', and asked the crowd "do you feel alive?"

"I need everyone to know I knew this song before it was cool"- Gartland said laughing, before going into a cover of Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill'. She then mashed it up with 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot', and 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)', letting the crowd sing a chorus on their own while she danced, jumped and kicked her legs.
"Sing along!" she instructed, "I sound bossy but it's fine, I get to be bossy when I'm up here," Gartland joked. She ended the covers-mashup by returning to 'Flatline' for one last chorus.
She ended with 'More Like You', which she explained is one of her favorite songs off 2021's Woman on the Internet because it details an anxiety she thought only she felt, and she's loved to see fans relate to it. She exclaimed that she felt like "the princess of Ireland" and was so grateful for everyone coming out to see her set.
