The artist derives inspiration from electronic, industrial and punk music.
pawprints electrified Anseo in Dublin City last night, with his first-ever headline show.
With the opening act changing at the last minute, Glass Eye took the stage just past nine.
“If you guys don’t know, my name’s Glass Eye, unfortunately not E THE ARTIST, RIP,” he said. “But yeah, I’m gonna give you some fucking tunes now for the next while. I hope you enjoy.”
Clutching the microphone, Glass Eye hurled wild shrieks into the crowd. Each of his songs built up gradually, opening with a simple beat and evolving into an absolute wall of sound. Combining elements of rap and metal, his guttural performance was enhanced by an earth-rattling bass.
“While we’re here, huge fucking shout out to Swimsuit Issue for putting this on and for having me, thank you so much,” he said before leaving the stage.

pawprints was an outright powerhouse, bringing the punch with his electronic set. Donning black spiky sunglasses, he carried an air of confidence throughout the entirety of his set. Intense lights flashed the crowd, who were churning with movement. Dynamic beats danced behind the artist's infectious chants, as he prowled around the stage.
“I’m pawprints!” he shouted. “Thank you to Glass Eye, thank you to Anseo, and thank you to me. And my mam.”
As the set continued, his beats got heavier and more complex. Filled with powerful bass, his commanding voice bellowed overtop the intricate sound, reminiscent of Machine Girl's gnarly beats. pawprints frequently delved into the crowd, dancing and casting his lyrics onto fans in the intimate venue.
“How are y’all feeling?” he asked. “Y’all need to pop some pills or something. I’ll be outside selling ecstasy at 11 o’clock if yous are looking for some. But until then, you’ll have to listen to my set,” added, jokingly.
Irreverent and comical, his excited energy rubbed off on the entire crowd. At one point he took off his shirt, screaming into the mic and delivering a stellar, rousing performance. I found myself itching to hear more as his set came to a close.
