The revered DJ superbly transported a roaring crowd through their last show of the weekend.
For the Sunday closing set of Electric Picnic's Electric Arena, South-Korean, Germany-based DJ Peggy Gou basks the crowd in bright, red lights - the perfect match for the ferocity of her hour-and-a-half fiery set.
Throughout the whole show, the DJ keeps a consistent beat - neither too slow nor too fast but always heavy, creating a fascinating continuity that only makes the sound more transporting. Resonating bass lines and and twinkling synths blend together in a harmonious, esoteric sound that is both otherworldly and earth-bounding.
Peggy Gou only deviates from this regular, bone-shaking rhythm for a few well-placed drops, masterfully slowing down to build intoxicating anticipation that blows up into an earth-shattering release.

The already impassioned audience swells for the smash hit 'I Go' and and its masterful use of retro-futurist electronics, dancing with such dedication that you'd almost forget that we're already on the third evening of Electric Picnic.
Peggy Gou's laid back attitude is gripping, her face stoic and yet still hypnotising as ever, her energy engrossing and undeviating, save for the occasional dazzled smile as the DJ stares far into the swelling crowd.
The dreamy, sort of eerie atmosphere makes for a deeply special techno show, where it is as easy to stomp your feet to the heavy bass as it would be to close your eyes and let the mystical melodies take over you - and up behind her deck, her presence relentless, Peggy Gou looks like a priestess of sorts, transforming the Electric Arena into a transcendental nightclub.
