Sorcha Richardson rocked the Mind & Body stage on day two of Electric Picnic.
Although she began her set with hit 'Ruin Your Night', Sorcha Richardson did the opposite of ruin our night. Her performance at the Mind & Body stage for day two of Electric Picnic was surely a highlight of the weekend.
Emerging in an all black dress and blazer, Richardson thanked everyone for coming out to the depths of the Mind & Body stage. She was able to draw a full crowd of all ages away from the Main stage area with her set.
As Electric Picnic has finally returned after a couple years off, many artists are reminiscing on their EP memories. Richardson herself shared a story about her and her friends driving back one year at five in the morning, with her friend repeatedly requesting to hear her song 'Oh Oscillator'.
Then, the Irish artist played recent single 'Archie' off her upcoming album Smiling Like an Idiot, due September 23rd. In honour of the EP crowd, she played a new song they've never performed before. Perhaps also from her new album- which we'll find out soon enough.
Up next she played the titular track from her debut album First Prize Bravery. Perfectly fitting for the end of the summer, she played 'High in the Garden', a song reminiscing on a fun summer day.

Amazingly enough, the crowd loudly sang along to every word of single 'Shark Eyes', which only came out a month and a half ago. This song brought out lots of emotion, as it details "being totally infatuated with someone who you know isn’t as interested in you as you are in them".
Returning to her debut album, Richardson played 'False Alarm', a darker tune which had her singing, "Running every red light/ It's a dead end/ it's a death wish." To close out her set, Richardson played 'Dont Talk About It', ending the night with a good dance. As she exited the stage she exclaimed, "Have the best rest of your weekend ever, and see you soon!"
If you missed her set or loved it so much you want more- you can catch Sorcha Richardson at the Olympia Theatre on October 20th.
