Watch VJ Jaxson's stunning set on the Y&E Series – supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
Following his studies in BIMM, Nigerian-born Tallaght-raised artist VJ Jaxson has emerged as a serious force to be reckoned with on the Irish scene. Drawing from his personal struggles with depression, his songs feature a unique juxtaposition of heartfelt lyrics and an upbeat tempo – carefully layered within an R&B melody. He released 'Red Pill' – the second single from his debut EP – last month.
The artist closed this edition of the Y&E Series on Monday evening with an acoustic set. Opening with an old song of his, the BIMM graduate wowed the virtual live audience with 'Losing My Mind', a husky blues/R&B number.
Moving into 'Beautiful Story', the stripped-back set proved to be a great introduction to the rising singer-songwriter, who also played songs from hit forthcoming, 6-track EP Finding Myself , which is due out June 25th.
