Swifties won’t want to miss a free, exciting Facebook/Instagram live event taking place this Wednesday at 5pm, where Fiona Fitzsimons, genealogist with The Irish Family History Centre at EPIC Museum, will reveal fascinating details of the singer’s Irish heritage and the captivating stories behind her ancestral roots.
Also featuring will be an in-depth a song breakdown by music journalist Caroline Kelly from Hot Press, as she analyses Taylor’s tracks, spotlighting themes of resilience, migration, and the never-ending light of love.

Fiona Fitzsimons, founder and director at The Irish Family History Centre, specialises in uncovering the intricate ancestral stories of individuals and families. Her team has provided research and historical consultancy for American Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, Tom Cruise, Princess Charlene of Monaco, Bruce Springsteen and David Bowie among others.

Fitzsimons has also been involved in various tv and film productions, well as being involved in television and film productions, including Who Do You Think You Are, Faces of America and Finding our Roots.
Hailing from Brooklyn, Caroline Kelly was the recipient of a scholarship to attend the summer journalism academy at The Harvard Crimson, Harvard University’s renowned campus newspaper. Pursuing her interest in her own Irish background, and in Irish literature, she came to Ireland to study for a Bachelor of Humanities degree in University College Dublin.
She was Deputy Features Editor and subsequently Features Editor at The University Observer. Specialising in music and culture, she has been working as an editorial intern with Hot Press since 2023, while she pursues a degree in English with Creative Writing at UCD.
