'Rumors' will be the first new track in two years for the Grammy award-winning artist.
Lizzo has shared that she will release her new single 'Rumors' on August 13.
The American singer took to Instagram to make the announcement, sharing a photo of the single's cover taken by Jora Frantzis to signal the "new era" of her music. The day before she had teased the announcement, writing in an Instagram post, "Don't even like this post cus you REALLY gon like my post tomorrow."
The upcoming track will be Lizzo's first new song in two years. Her third studio album, Cuz I Love You, was released in 2019 and catapulted her into stardom. It won the Grammy award for Best Urban Contemporary Album in 2020, and two of its tracks, 'Truth Hurts' and 'Jerome,' won the Grammy awards for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Traditional R&B Performance, respectively.
After the release of Cuz I Love You, Lizzo collaborated with Charli XCX on "Blame It On Your Love" in 2019. She also covered Harry Styles' 'Adore You' on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, which you can watch here.
