Loah releases her latest song ahead of her performance at St Brigid's Cathedral, Kildare.
Irish and Sierra Leonean musician Loah has released a single in honour of Saint Brigid’s Day.
'Gabhaim Molta Bríghde' is sung entirely in Irish, featuring folk musician and harpist, Cormac de Barra. The song is a tribute to Ireland's St Brigid, and reflects on divine femininity in Irish history and culture.
“I learned this tune a few years ago for one of the first celebrations of St Brigid’s Day, “says Loah. “Since then, with each passing year its mournful, beautiful melody has gripped my imagination.”
“Once Cormac de Barra came on board for a performance at St Brigid’s Cathedral in Kildare, his masterful harp arrangement added something so hallowed that I am very grateful to have recorded it.” Loah added.
Loah will perform as part of Hotpress and Kildare County Council’s Brigid 2025 Festival on Sunday, February 2 in St Brigid’s Cathedral.
