One of Ireland's finest emerging singer-songwriters is set to take to the stage in for a London production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic rock opera.
Better known for her music, Loah has been on the Hot Press radar for a long time. Alongside Soulé and Jafaris, she donned the cover of our 2017 Hot Press Yearbook, which paid tribute to the new wave of Irish artists performing in the country today.
Loah has had a phenomenal few years. She was rightly given critical acclaim for her 2018 EP This Heart, which showcased her unique sound and deftly woven lyrics.
The singer also released her sublime new single 'April Brave' earlier in 2019, where she collaborated with producer Bantum.
Now, it looks like the singer is getting set to take on the acting world. Loah will play the role of Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar for a run of performances in the Barbican Theatre this August.
Originally written as a rock opera album, Jesus Christ Superstar made its debut on the Broadway stage in 1971. The show transferred to the West End the following year where it ran for eight years and went on to become one of the most enduring musicals of its time.

Loah also made an appearance on The Tommy Tiernan show last weekend, along with her sister Fehdah (Emma Garrett), where the two talked about racism in Ireland, music, and childhood. Even performing a song for the occasion. Watch the full thing here.
