'California Soil', London Grammar’s third studio album, is set for release on February 12th via Columbia Records.
Electro-pop heroes London Grammar have previewed their highly-anticipated upcoming third album Californian Soil with a new single, titled ‘Lose Your Head’.
The George FitzGerald-produced track arrives with an accompanying music video directed by Zhang + Knight.
“‘Lose Your Head’ is about power and control in relationships,” frontwoman Hannah Reid said in a press release, highlighting a goal of empowerment.
“The lyrics are quite dark, but I wanted to show the song in an upbeat way.”
Zhang + Knight are famed for videos from the likes Sigrid and Ghostpoet, and the ethereal new visual sees Reid finding her way through a tumultuous dreamscape.

Referencing the project as a whole, Reid added:
“This record is about gaining possession of my own life. You imagine success will be amazing. Then you see it from the inside and ask, ‘Why am I not controlling this thing? Why am I not allowed to be in control of it? And does that connect, in any way to being a woman? If so, how can I do that differently?’”
California Soil includes the previously released title track and sophomore single ‘Baby It’s You’.
“Misogyny is primitive,” Reid said in October of the album's subject matter, “which is why it is so hard to change. But it is also fearful. It’s about rejecting the thing in yourself which is vulnerable or feminine. Yet everybody has that thing."
London Grammar's last album, Truth Is A Beautiful Thing, arrived in 2017.
