Lord Henry Mountcharles, the owner of Slane Castle and organiser of its concerts has said that after the complaints made about this year's concert with Oasis as headliners, he will ensure that standards improve for next year.

"I fully understand the frustrations of anybody who was inconvenienced at the Oasis concert. These problems cause me inconsiderable concern. I have had several letters from people who thoroughly enjoyed the concert and have had absolutely no problems - but that doesn't take away from the fact that there were some system failures that shouldn't have happened, and I am making investigations and enquiries to make sure they don't happen again," he says.

This year, the concert had over 80,000 fans in attendance and most of the complaints were aimed at transportation and the overcrowding at the gates.
There were reports of people waiting for over five hours for a bus to bring them back to Dublin and one fan said that they were "herded like cattle" out of the concert site.

Lord Henry is putting plans into motion already so that 2010's Slane concert will be relatively problem-free.

"I will have formal review discussions within the next week or two with all parties involved, including Meath County Council, the Gardaí, Civil Defence, MCD,, River Rescue and so on. But I'm also carrying out my own investigations. I've never done this before, but I will be coming forward with some suggestions for Dublin Bus as to how that situation can be improved."
