The track marks the Belfast band’s first launch for their upcoming project.
The new alt-rock group Lord Jane are announcing their arrival in the Irish music scene with a fresh song and two shows in Northern Ireland.
Consisting of members of the acts Wohn, Ferals and Mob Wife, the band formed in 2022 from Sam Foote’s (guitarist) and Dylan Norton’s (drummer) wish to explore their shared influences and to step away from their usual heavier sounds. Lord Jane rose up as an occasion to try out a softer and more melodic style, soon joined by Carm Small (bassist), Aiden Reynolds (guitarist) and Clodagh May (vocalist).

This first single combines the band’s post-punk, alt-rock and funk-pop influences. "‘I Did It To Myself’ is the perfect introduction into what the band represents. Lyrically, it is an inner dialogue of the vicious cycle of self-destruction, and in the end, there’s no one to blame but yourself. The song is driven by catchy guitar hooks and an unrelenting bop of rhythm," Clodagh commented.
Lord Jane will be playing in Belfast’s Ulster Sports Club, supporting Mob Wife with Casavettes, on 29th March, as well as in Derry’s Nerve Centre, supporting Problem Patterns, on 27th April. For ticket information, click here and here.
