Hot Press Classics returns today with an episode exploring St. Vincent’s self-titled 2014 classic, as well as Lorde’s landmark 2013 debut Pure Heroine.
This episode examines the two artists' performances at Nirvana's induction into the Rock'n'Roll hall of fame, where St. Vincent interpreted a dazzling rendition of 'Lithium', while a 16-year-old Lorde offered her own cover of 'All Apologies', both accompanied by the band's remaining members Dave Growl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear.
Elsewhere, Paul Nolan discusses their influence on the 2010's and 2020's pop music landscape, with collaborations including Taylor Swift's 'Cruel Summer', and Charli XCX's 'Girl So Confusing'.
In various interviews, Paul Nolan and St. Vincent discuss putting her Masseduction tour together, the musician's Irish roots, Taylor Swift and the track 'Slow Disco', as well as her work with Damon Albarn, Dave Growl and Paul McCartney.
With Lorde, he brings up Ella's views on the 2021 lockdown, the lyrical themes of her record Solar Power, such as climate change, as well as her musical influences and her use, or lack thereof, of social media.
