The New Zealand alt-pop artist told fans to watch the natural world for clues about upcoming music release dates.
Lorde took to her website to announce the release of the second single of her upcoming album Solar Power. The arrival of the new song, titled 'Stoned at the Nail Salon', was confirmed with a bright yellow graphic with the track's title and release date written on it.
The album's first single, also called 'Solar Power', was released last month following the singer's four-year hiatus. This week, Lorde debuted her live performance of the song on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York.
The song was accompanied by a beachy music video which was co-directed by Lorde and Joel Kefali. The song was co-written and co-produced with Jack Antonoff, and it featured backing vocals from Phoebe Bridgers and Clairo.
Lorde's new website was updated with the release of 'Solar Power' at the beginning of June, with the New Zealand singer updating fans on details around new music with her 'Solar Institute' newsletter.
Lorde's album is set for release on August 20th, containing 12 songs and two bonus tracks.
The 24-year-old has also announced she will be going on a world tour in 2022, with many of the dates already sold out.
