Speaking of the industry creaming itself over the advent of the rock chick, along stomps another ‘right place at the right time’ opportunist in the form of Avril Lavigne. This time round though, the hype is somewhat justified. Scratch the highly stylised surface, and this track is a well-produced, memorable song with just enough angst on display so as not to scare the kids.
