Modernlove.'s latest offering comes with a vibrant music video, co-directed by Sam Fallover and Liam Desroy.
Modernlove.'s dreamy new single 'come over x' made its debut on the Tara Stewart show on RTE 2FM last night. The track is the latest single for the self-proclaimed friendly neighbourhood boyband's upcoming EP monochrome blue (September 1).
As Louth's answer to The 1975, the four piece's mellow synth-heavy love song fantasises about a new love - as of yet unspoken. The track is a little bit 10cc, drawing heavily from '80s-sounding arpeggiators and vocal distortion. Despite its nostalgic influences, the track is definitely of the contemporary genre.
The quartet's fourth single appears on modernlove.'s EP, monochrome blue - arriving in September via Akira Records. The Hot for 2019 outfit - comprising Barry, Cian, Danny and Graham - explore the complexities of the modern lives of twenty-somethings. The band have already nailed their sound, delivering polished indie-pop with a glossy '90s sheen and intricate details.
“‘come over x’ tells of the naivety and sincerity of young love in the modern world.” the band say. “It follows the story of a young person attempting to sneak their love interest to their room avoiding detection from their guardian. A simple love ballad but in the context of today.”
'Come over x' follows the success of modernlove.'s previous singles 'lmk (if you wanna see me)', 'Liquorice' and 'Bop', which explore timeless themes of romance, rejection and communication in a 21st century context.
