As she prepares to release her highly-anticipated self-titled album, Irish star LYRA unveils a fourth offering of dark electro pop stylings.
LYRA continues a string of single releases - ahead of her upcoming self-titled album - with 'Queen,' which drops on Wednesday 27 March. LYRA releases next month, 12 April, via Rubyworks Records. You can pre-save the new track and forthcoming LP here.
Co-written and produced by Phil Cook (Lewis Capaldi, Ellie Goulding, and Calum Scott), the single exudes a sense of liberation from sexual limitations.
‘Queen’ is a dizzying hedonistic track about promiscuity, about pleasure, about a one night stand, of owning it and not needing anymore in that moment of exchange. It’s about empowerment and taking back that control, the opening chords of the record harness the pop sensation's raw and powerhouse vocals with her signature drum beats and intensity from the outset.
“This song is bad-ass,” explains LYRA. "it presents a version of myself that I was always scared to be. It’s a reminder that you need me and I don’t need you, and I can be my own Queen."
As LYRA prepares to release her studio album next month, which includes the pop anthems 'Chess,' 'Drink Me Up' and 'You,' the Irish music sensation star closes out a hectic month following her return to live performances across Ireland. These included two sold-out 3Olympia Theatre Shows and two sold-out Cork Opera House shows.
