The Canadian musician has shared the new single from Here Comes the Cowboy, ahead of his Dublin gig in July.
Three days before the release of his highly anticipated new album, Here Comes the Cowboy, Mac DeMarco has shared the surreal video for his latest single, 'On The Square'.
Shot by William Sipos and Sean Campos, the video sees DeMarco and musician Tommy Midnight take part in a bizarre stage performance, involving a collection of terrifying animal masks and birdbath of milk.
Here Comes the Cowboy, DeMarco's fifth album is set to be released this Friday, May 10, via Mac's Record Label. The follow-up to 2017's This Old Dog was written and mixed at DeMarco's Jizz Jazz Studios in Los Angeles earlier this year.
In a statement about the album, DeMarco revealed:
"I’ve played all the instruments on the record myself, except for a bit of keyboard here and there, played by my tour keyboardist – now one of my oldest friends – Alec Meen. My traveling sound engineer Yakitori Santar also helped me record and assemble the tracks. During the recording, it was raining a lot in Los Angeles. If you pay close attention, you can hear it knocking on the windows of the garage here and there."

'Nobody' and 'All of Our Yesterdays', both of which have already been released, are also set to feature on Here Comes the Cowboy. The album is available to pre-order now.
DeMarco, who was one of the headliners at 2018's Metropolis festival in the RDS, is set to play Dublin's Iveagh Garden on Sunday, July 14. See Ticketmaster for more information.
