All proceeds from ‘Hind’s Hall’ will go towards the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
American rapper Macklemore has released a new pro-Palestine song on social media. ‘Hind’s Hall’ was inspired by the current pro-Palestine student protests happening around the world, especially those at New York’s Columbia University.
All the proceeds from ‘Hind’s Hall’ will be donated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) once the song drops on streaming platforms, the artist said.
The song draws inspiration from student demonstrators at Columbia University who have occupied the campus’ Hamilton Hall last week and renamed it “Hind’s Hall” as a tribute to six-year-old Hind Rajab, who was killed by Israeli military in Gaza.
The protests at Columbia University are just one of several demonstrations around the world. At Trinity College on Friday, dozens of students erected tents, forming a blockade in front of the Book of Kells exhibition. The boycott sees students calling on the university to end all business and academic links to Israel due to the war in Gaza.
The latest track from Macklemore echoes students’ calls for a ceasefire in the besieged territory and an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

Macklemore has repeatedly declared his staunch support for Palestine and his efforts to highlight the atrocities in Gaza. The artist has donned the Palestinian Keffiyeh – a traditional garment – during several concerts and even took part in a pro-Palestine demonstration in Washington last December.
The song is yet to be available on streaming platforms, but a clip posted on Instagram garnered more than 10 million views and over 400,00 likes in the first 13 hours since its uploading. Once available, all proceeds from ‘Hind’s Hall’ will go towards the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
