Tickets to see Madness priced €49.90 inclusive go on sale this Friday, November 18th at 9am via Ticketmaster.ie
Madness, the band that brought us ‘House of Fun’ and ‘Our House’ are set to perform at The Summer Series at Trinity College on Saturday July 1st 2023. Tickets can be purchased for €49.90 from Friday November 18th via Ticketmaster.
This is the English group’s return since their last live show here in August 2022, with one of their most memorable being 2014's - where they celebrated their 40th anniversary with a performance at Dun Laoghaire Pier.
With their background firmly rooted in the backstreets of Camden Town, Madness emerged in the late 70s as part of the new wave-ska genre. Before Was We: Madness by Madness is their new three-part documentary with AMC, chronicling the band’s beginnings, and can be streamed on demand on BT TV.
Madness’s success includes 10 UK top ten albums, 15 top ten singles, and a number of awards - including an Ivor Novello, and NME for their ‘House of Fun’ video. Their most notable performances include the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations where they played atop Buckingham Palace, and the BBC’s Live New Year’s Eve Broadcast - which set the record for 2018 as the year’s most watched event.
The group’s iconic ‘Our House’, which was filmed at Willesden Junction, North London in 1982, has since been meticulously restored from the original 16mm film, bringing the video back into fine line 4k focus. You can find the updated version here.
Madness fans can look forward to 2023 for the band’s first studio album in 6 years.
