Madonna has confirmed that she has adopted twin girls from Malawi, and has said she is 'overjoyed' for them to now be part of her family.
The 58 year old pop artist Madonna has recently adopted two four year old girls from Malawi. She shared a picture on her Instagram of her holding hands with two young girls, named Estere and Stelle. She captioned this image "I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family." She also added "I am deeply grateful to all those in Malawi who helped make this possible, and I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time."
Back in January, there had been rumours that she had applied to a judge for permission to adopt two children, but she released a statement saying "rumours of an adoption process are untrue", also claiming that she was in Malawi visiting a children's hospital in conjunction to her charity 'Raising Malawi.'
This is the third time that Madonna has adopted children, after adopting her son David Banda and her daughter Mercy James from Malawi in 2006 and 2009.
From her previous marriage to Guy Ritchie, she already has a son called Rocco, and a daughter named Lourdes from another relationship.
Madonna has posted these two images to her Instagram page:
