'Beautiful Game' is a hauntingly cryptic ballad, echoing her earlier work
Madonna has finally released the long-awaited Met Gala performance on her Youtube, which featured a snippet of a brand new song 'Beautiful Game'.
The singer also included 'Like A Prayer' and a cover of ‘Hallelujah'. Whilst the performance occurred at the Met Gala in May, this is the first time it has been made public.
Madonna appeared dressed in a long-flowing white gown. Her hair was done up in a stunning French braid, whilst dancers sporting corn rows performed a routine where they dragged the singer down a staircase.
The new track had seamlessly transitioned from a rendition of her mega hit 'Like A Prayer', showing how Madonna might be returning to her earlier roots with the new project. The lyrics were dark and twisted, delving into a story about the gameplay of fame.
She calls out her haters "people tell me to shut my mouth, that I might get burned / keep your beautiful lies, 'cause I'm not concerned".
