17 year old Mahalia talks to Olaf Tyaransen about working with Ed Sheeran and Rudimental in the new issue of Hot Press
At just 17, English singer Mahalia has ticked a number of boxes that most musicians might never in their entire career. Her standout moments to date include collaborating with Rudimental and performing on Later... with Jools Holland - but one moment really stands out.
She supported the global superstar Ed Sheeran on the final leg of his tour in London and Birmingham. Special enough, one might say - but Mahalia was just 14 at the time.
"That was incredible, that was my first ever big support," she tells Olaf Tyaransen. "I remember being completely nervous and completely overwhelmed with excitement. It was good and I got to go on stage with him, which was also wicked. We did a little video and that’s on YouTube. That was really one of my favourite moments."
In the interview Mahalia also talks about how supportive her friends have been as her success grows and how her parents time in the music industry has helped her along the way.
