Man Alive has released the track's music video directed by Aisling Bea.
Man Alive has released his new single ‘Miles Away’ which is the first single on his upcoming EP Hiding.
When talking about the track, Mark Prendergast (the man behind the project) says, “‘Miles Away’ is a song I wrote during some down time where I was by myself quite a lot. I got pretty comfortable with the idea of doing nothing and seeing nobody. I gravitated towards the couch and didn’t see a way out for a while. I was happy being still. Eventually I did have to get off the couch and go record the song.”
‘Miles Away’ was produced by Prendergast and written with fellow Irish pop singer, Gavin James. James can be heard singing backing vocals on the track as well as contributing on the bass.
The video for the single was written and directed by actress and writer Aisling Bea, who is a long time fan of Prendergast's work. The video portrays him in the solitude of his home with only an action figure.
Hiding is set to act as a follow up his first EP Colours. “The EP is called Hiding because that idea pops up quite a lot for me. I often romanticise about disappearing and being left alone for a while," Prendergast explained.

“My first EP was all about heartbreak and processing that. This EP is more about what goes on in my head when I’m left to my own devices. I went for a much more stripped back approach with the production. Less is more this time around.”
Man Alive will be supporting Gavin James this month on Saturday, May 25, Live at The Marquee in Cork.
