Tickets to see The Slow Readers Club go on sale Thursday (September 22nd) at 9am from ticketmaster.ie.
The Slow Readers Club have announced a slate of UK and European tour dates, with stops at Dublin's Academy on April 15th, 2023 and Limelight 2, Belfast on April 14th, 2023.
Fresh from playing a selection of huge summer shows as guests to the iconic Pixies, The Slow Readers Club are set to embark upon a major headline tour next year.
The tour is announced as the acclaimed Manchester band work on the full-scale follow-up to 2020’s Top 10 album The Joy of the Return. That same year also saw the band release the more ethereal 91 Days In Isolation, which was written remotely under lockdown restrictions.
“We’re buzzin’ to be back out on tour next year in the UK and Europe," vocalist Aaron Starkie says. "We’ll be playing new tunes alongside the old favourites and we might sling a few surprises in too. The UK tour ends with a home town show in Manchester. We’ve not done a big headline in our own city since 2019 so we feel it’s about time."
Completed by Aaron’s brother Kurtis Starkie (guitar), James Ryan (bass) and David Whitworth (drums), The Slow Readers Club first established a loyal following with two self-released albums: 2011’s eponymous debut and 2015’s Cavalcade.

Aaron’s lyrics upscaled from the personal to the political and dystopian with Build A Tower (2018), The Joy Of The Return and 91 Days In Isolation. Their sound has constantly evolved, their core being anthemic electro-rock boasting the noir lustre of Interpol, Alt-J, The Maccabees and Depeche Mode.
Hot Press previously premiered the video for 'Tell No Lies' in 2021, starring Line of Duty's Craig Parkinson.
