Mayor Andy Burnham calls the lyrics "unnecessarily hurtful and deeply disrespectful."
"Unaccomodating," the second track on Eminem's surprise new album Music To Be Murdered By, sees the American rapper referencing the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing at Ariana Grande's concert. He raps, "I’m contemplating yelling ‘bombs away’ on the game/Like I’m outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting."
The bombing killed 22 people and injured many more. In a statement to the BBC, Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham said, "This is unnecessarily hurtful and deeply disrespectful to the families and all those affected."
Eminem previously rapped about the bombing in a 2018 freestyle about a brainwashed suicide bomber, saying "seeing Ariana Grande sing her last song of the evening/And as the audience from the damn concert is leaving/Detonates the device strapped to his abdominal region."

Twitter users are employing the site to call the rapper out for his distasteful lyrics, with Twitter user @EdwardTHardy tweeting: "It's a shameful thing to sing and disrespects the memory of those who tragically lost their lives in a terrorist attack."
Following the attack in 2017, Eminem encouraged his fans to donate to the British Red Cross and support the families of the attack.
