Mango X MathMan have dropped the new video for ‘Heartbreaks & Promises’ featuring Melina Malone.
The video features Oisín, played by Bryan Quinn telling his son — played by Dylan Geraghty about “talking to moths”. An old song comes on that takes him on a nostalgia trip. The father turns into a younger version of himself, played by Mango, who relives a “Dublin Love Story” through the windscreen of a Type R Honda Civic.
Eve Murray features in the video as Mango’s old girlfriend as the two struggle through an intense and tumultuous relationship. The poignant song pulses with a hypnotic beat and Mango’s excellent delivery.
The video was directed by Sam Fallover and dropped earlier today to praise from fans. Mango X MathMan teased the video on their Instagram with a short snippet from the video. “This one goes out to all the lovers out there. See yiz Tuesday,” they captioned the post.
The hip-hop duo are set to embark on The Quiet Life Tour of Ireland at the start of 2022. With shows in Cork, Limerick, Galway, Dublin and Belfast, Mango X MathMan are set to “up end this bleedin country,” as they said on Instagram. Tickets are available here.

The pair stamped themselves as some of the frontrunners in Irish rap with their debut album Casual Work. In her review of the record, Hot Press’ Lucy O’Toole wrote:
"At times swinging between fury and weariness, and at other times looking up to the sky in hope, Casual Work rails against the destruction of Dublin’s pulsing creative heart to stunning effect.
"Using hip-hop as a vehicle, Mango X MathMan are authentically reflecting the experiences of the young and the working-class — voices that have long been muted in our city’s tradition of literature and poetry."
