The two come together on this dynamite release.
Marcus Woods and Rebel Phoenix just dropped their new EP entitled Global Warming, featuring 5 hard-hitting offerings of raw hip-hop. Woods is a producer part of Burner Records, a label that's been responsible for churning out some of Dublin’s most respected artists. Rebel Phoenix is a rapper whos been making waves in Ireland for the past few years thanks to his versatility on the mic. More recently, he’s been gaining a following internationally. Global Warming was recorded, mixed and mastered with Diffusion Label, a collective who have behind some of Ireland's biggest urban acts including Jafaris and Soule. So, if you’re guessing this collaboration resulted in one of the most dynamite hip-hop releases of the year you’d be right on the money.
‘Prologue’ is the calm before the storm. A sinister spoken word track with an atmospheric pad wandering in the background, it serves as a warning for the mayhem about to ensue. Then comes ‘Heatwaves.’ If you aren’t prepared, this track most definitely has the potential to blow your speakers out. Featuring Irish mainstay Mango, the track has a legendary aura and natural chemistry to it. ‘Wide Awake’ is the hardest track on the EP with its thundering drums and booming bass. The song really showcases each musician's strengths.
