Indie favourite Maria Kelly has announced a series of free events next week, celebrating the release of her new album The Waiting Room, due out on February 28.

It will include an online Bandcamp listening party on February 24, a Secret Listening Experience in Dublin’s Rathmines on February 27 and a live performance in Dublin’s Spin Dizzy Records on February 28.

The setting of Kelly’s new record is inspired by her personal health struggles. The singer found herself stuck in sterile clinics hoping for answers to chronic pain.

She describes the album as "an exploration of the roadblocks, both internally and externally, that keep us feeling powerless and taking away our agency.”

The Waiting Room was dubbed as one of Hot Press’ most anticipated Irish albums of 2025 in our January edition, calling it a “warm winter duvet of a record”.
