Luster is available for pre-order now, also featuring her 2024 single 'Projections.'
Maria Somerville has announced the release of her second album Luster, set for release on April 25.
The artist also dropped the second single ‘Garden’ off the upcoming project, accompanied by a music video directed by Anna Heisterkamp. She announced a string of European, US and UK tour dates beginning in April, including shows in Cork, Limerick and Dublin. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
In September of 2024, Somerville released her first single off Luster titled ‘Projections.’ The shoegaze track was her first new single in three years. She self-released her first album All My People in 2019, developing her signature dream pop sound.
The singer was born in Connemara before later moving to Dublin. After returning to Galway, she began developing her second album in a small living room studio. She worked with musicians like Henry Earnest and Finn Carraher McDonald of Nashpaints to “tie it all together.”
Somerville’s fans can listen to her music selections every Monday and Tuesday morning through her Early Bird Show on NTS Radio, featuring shoegaze and Irish folk songs. In 2021 she reached a new career high, signing with 4AD. Since then, she’s toured with post-punk band Dry Cleaning and released two covers for the label's 40th anniversary– ‘Kinky Love’ by Nancy Sinatra and ‘Sea Bird’ by Air Miami.
