English musician, Marika Hackman has announced the release of her next album Big Sigh – set for release on January 12 – along with the release of her latest single, 'Slime', with an accompanying new music video.
Singer-songwriter and producer, Marika Hackman, is set to release her next album, Big Sigh, on January 12, 2024. Ahead of the album launch the artist has released her brand new single 'Slime'.
The artist has gone in a different direction with this album in comparison to her last album, Any Human Friend, she explains: “The way I've written about love and sex on this record is very different to Any Human Friend, which was a celebration of sexy fun and visceral, rank hotness. Whereas this is sensitive - a more thoughtful reflection.”
Hackman released 'Slime' in anticipation of the album. The track recalls the chaos of a new relationship, those first flushes of passion and intimacy.
The singer describes the song: “It's a reflection of the destruction that can be caused when you get together with someone and there are other factors at play. On the one hand, you have a new thing that's really exciting and hot and lusty but there can also be a lot of storm clouds floating around, a lot of fall-out socially.”
‘Slime’ arrives accompanied by an enchanting new music video co-directed by Marika and Anne-Sofie Lindgaard.
