Unlike everyone else in the world, most of Canadian hotshot Mathew Jonson’s work has left me cold, but ‘Marionette’, like his mix of Hiem on Crosstown Rebels, is an exception to this rule. A beautiful, dreamy dance floor track, where minor trance chords complement tight handclaps and one of the sub-sonic, low slung basslines Jonson is feted for, this time the hype is justified.
