Mark Hoppus plays Blink-182 songs live for the first time since becoming free of cancer
"Mark doing this has just been incredible," Travis Barker said of his bandmate and friend.
For the first time since announcing that he is cancer-free, Mark Hoppus played Blink-182 songs live with Travis Barker.
As part of the latter's pay per view Halloween concert House of Horrors, the duo linked up with guitarist Kevin "Thrasher" Gruft, playing 'What's My Age Again', 'The Rock Show' and 'Family Reunion' while dressed as Batman and The Joker.
In an interview before the set was broadcast, Barker said Hoppus being free of cancer was "the best news all year. Mark doing this has just been incredible. I've been with him through this whole process, he's been so resiliant and tough."
Hoppus had confirmed in July that he had been diagnosed with 4-A diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
He then wrote on Instagram in September, "Just saw my oncologist and I'm cancer free!!" revealing the news to his fans.
"Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love."
He added he would still have to get scanned every six months and that it would take him "until the end of the year to get back to normal", but finished the statement with "Today is an amazing day and I feel so blessed."
Travis Barker's House of Horrors was a live-streamed pay per view concert headlined by Avril Lavigne and frequent Barker collaborator Machine Gun Kelly.
