The ABC legend was in sparkling form!
An adoring crowd has just been treated to a trip down pop memory lane by Martin Fry, the ABC mainman who's celebrating the UK top 5 debut of his The Lexicon Of Love II album.
"It was the right time to do a sequel," said Martin before adding sagely: "Fame is intermittent but writing songs is forever. It's a great form of therapy."
Over the course of a lively public interview with Roisin Dwyer, he recalled David Bowie dropping into the less than salubrious London studio where the original Lexicon Of Love album was made with Tony Visconti at the production helm; one of his ABC bandmates sporting a dildo-belt when they performed on the Tube; their Top Of The Pops rivalry with The Cure, Duran Duran and Depeche Mode; their zero tolerance policy towards guitar solos and hanging in Hollywood with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. And that was just for starters!
