Hollywood raised a glass last night to the black comedy short produced by Irish playwright.
Best known for his plays about Ireland, McDonagh accepted the revered golden award for Best Live Action Short for his film Six Shooter.
The Minister for the Arts, John O'Donoghue, made sure to congratulate the writer and production team for their achievement. Meanwhile, McDonagh thanked those who were not able to be with him on Oscar night; actor Ruaidhri Conroy was unfortunately delayed at immigration in the States.

Of course, those who lack a fancy government title but make up for it in film appreciation will enjoy the success of McDonagh's short as well. It's hoped that Six Shooter's win will continue to help pave the way for greater success in the Ireland's film industry.
