Renowned jazz musician and vocalist Mary Coughlan celebrates her 40h year in music with the release of her record Repeat Rewind on October 25, 2024.
She also shared the lead single ‘What If I Do’, out today, ahead of a string of tour dates across Ireland which will include a special anniversary gig at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre on December 1.
The tour will kick off in her native Galway, with a special Spring show at Róisín Dubh on 14 April.
Coughlan will also play Limerick and Belfast on the 2 and 3 November, before traversing the Irish Sea for a gig at London’s Union Chapel on 11 November.

Speaking of the record, she says: “After 40 years in this business and having reached a point in my life where I do a lot of this, looking back and replaying scenes from my life... and wondering…I walk around Galway sometimes and remember absolutely everything about growing up there.
“All of those events made me who I am. I'm easy with that these days. The good and the bad times. All the learning. After 40 years in this crazy business I'm still here and still working. I still love going to a studio and making music, I love playing music live. I hope you enjoy this album”
Described by Hot Press as “One of our most openly raw performers”, Coughlan has built a reputation as one of the greatest female vocalists that Ireland has ever produced, drawing the line of artists such as Bessie Smith or Edith Piaf.
