The backlash against George Hook continues to mount, days after he made his controversial remarks about rape victims.
Legendary Irish singer Mary Coughlan, along with her three daughters, walked out of Newstalk yesterday in protest of George Hook's victim-blaming comments about rape, saying "He should be fired".
Appearing on the Hard Shoulder programme with Ivan Yates, Coughlan made known that she was unhappy with Hook's comments. The singer had been expected to talk about her upcoming tour before her departure.
Mary had already expressed doubts about going on the show in a Facebook post she made on Sunday evening.

A later post made it apparent that the jazz and folk singer had already decided on her course of action.
George Hook and Newstalk have made formal apologies for George's remarks, but pressure continues to grow on the presenter to resign.
