Stay at home with the Mary Wallopers this Paddy's Day.
While countless musicians and punters have lost out following event cancellations due to coronavirus fears, the Mary Wallopers are creatively rising to the challenge – with a live streamed gig from their house on St. Patrick's Day, March 17
The Dundalk folk group, who were previously scheduled to support Lankum at the Cork Opera House that night, will stream the house gig at 20:00 GMT via YouTube – and will also include a link to optional donations.
"There's no reason we shouldn't be able to have the craic other ways now that we're social distancing," the group have said in a statement.
Following their set at the Fontaines DC-curated Rock Against Homelessness night at the Olympia Theatre, Dublin earlier this month, the Mary Wallopers also announced a headline show at Whelan's, Dublin on April 24. The news arrives hot on the heels of their appearance on the Tommy Tiernan Show – not bad for a group who, under their hip-hop guise TPM, went viral with a track called 'Fuck RTÉ'.

The Mary Wallopers' trademark charm and irreverence is matched only by their staggering talent – as evidenced by their rendition of 'Cod Liver Oil and The Orange Juice' from their 2019 EP, A Mouthful Of The Mary Wallopers:
