One of the most influential voices in gospel music, Mavis Staples will be performing at The Olympia Theatre on 23rd June.
Creating some of the greatest American music of the past half-century, Mavis Staples' membership in family band The Staple Singers and acclaimed solo career has spanned foundational gospel music of the 50s, iconic protest anthems of the 60s, soulful jams of the 70s and beyond. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Blues Hall of Fame in 2017, Mavis Staples has been honored by the Grammy's and the Kennedy Center Honors among her many achievements. Her diverse range of collaborators has seen her working with the likes of Prince, Natalie Merchant and Jeff Tweedy. Most recently, she co-wrote and sang on Hozier's single "Nina Cried Power", with whom she also performed at last years Electric Picnic.
Rising Irish singer Ultan Conlon will be joining Staples for her upcoming show at the Olympia Theatre. His recent single 'In The Blink Of An Eye' is finding great success at No. 1 on RTE Radio airplay chart, his third consecutive single to reach this position. Promoting his 2018 album In the Blink of an Eye, Conlon has performed at the 3Arena, National Concert Hall and The Olympia Theatre.
