The German-born British pianist and composer will perform on October 30 and 31 later this year.
Max Richter will play two nights at the National Concert Hall this October, performing his upcoming album In A Landscape, which is set to be released this September 6.
In A Landscape differs from Richter's more politically driven albums, such as the 2021 LP Exile, which he wrote as a ballet score about the refugee crisis, and Voices (2022), which featured readings of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Speaking of the upcoming album, the Richter said it is about "reconciling polarities" and "bringing together the electronic and the acoustic, the human and the natural world, the big questions of life and the quiet pleasures of living."
The 2004 The Blue Notebooks album will also be preformed during the NCH dates, with Richter being joined by his ensemble: Eloisa Fleur Thom and Max Baillie – Violins, Connie Pharoah – Viola and Max Ruisi and Zara Hudson-Kozdoj – Cellos.
Over the last two decades, Richter has earned a reputation for being a leading figure in the contemporary music scene, with ground-breaking work as a composer, pianist, producer, and collaborator. He has also broken into the world of film scores, working on the likes of Black Mirror, Shutter Island, Ad Astra and Taboo - which earned him an Emmy nomination.
Last summer, he performed with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra at the All Together Now festival in Waterford.
