May the 4th festival is taking place this weekend, with exciting events centred in Kerry and Donegal.
That most momentous of days in the Star Wars lovers’ calendar, the May the 4th Be With You Festival has made its much-anticipated return to the Wild Atlantic Way this weekend.
With two of Star Wars’ most recent instalments having been filmed along the Wild Atlantic Way, what better to celebrate the Star Wars legacy in 2019 than by venturing along Ireland’s marvellous coastal towns and landscapes?
Events for all-ages are taking place on May 4 and 5 across villages in County Kerry and County Donegal. Fans of the films can visit the home base for the cast and crew while they shot on the extraordinary Skelligs in ‘Porgmagee’ (that’s Portmagee to the uninitiated!); they can also head up the coast to atmospheric Malin Head to star-gaze in the planetarium, or see brilliant fireworks displays at the most northerly tip of Ireland.
