The event will feature Langford, O’Neill and Hunt in conversation about their life in the music industry, while also featuring performances of their beloved tunes.
Renowned Irish singer-songwriters Megan O’Neill, Gráinne Hunt and Emma Langford are set to continue their ‘Songwriters In The Round’ tour across Ireland and the UK next month.
This unique and intimate style of performance originated at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe, where it has since become a beloved tradition. The "in the round" setup typically features 3-5 songwriters, each taking turns performing their original songs and sharing the stories behind them. These gigs are relaxed, informal, and conversational, allowing artists to connect with the audience, have fun on stage, and share personal stories and anecdotes from their lives.
The event will feature Langford, O’Neill and Hunt in conversation about their life in the music industry, while also featuring performances of their beloved tunes. The tour includes stops in Wexford, Waterford, Donegal, Kildare and Portlaoise, as well as Sheffield and a performance in London for International Women's Day.
Named one of the Irish Examiner's Ones to Watch, Irish singer-songwriter Megan O'Neill is currently working on a new collection of songs set for release next year. Over the past decade, O'Neill has shared the stage with renowned artists like Sir Tom Jones, Jamie Cullum, Lighthouse Family, and Glen Hansard, taking her original music around the globe. Her songs have been featured in the hit Netflix series Firefly Lane and ABC's Nashville, and she has performed twice on Ireland’s beloved Late Late Show.
With an undeniably rich and complex voice, Gráinne Hunt captivates audiences with her soul-stirring vocals and heartfelt songs, earning her a reputation as one of Ireland's standout vocalists and songwriters. Her two original albums explore personal experiences filled with pain and longing, drawing comparisons to artists like Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, and Dolores Keane. Hunt has shared stages with the likes of Glen Hansard and U2 and has opened for Gladys Knight. It’s no wonder she’s been affectionately hailed as Ireland’s answer to Joni Mitchell As Declan O'Rourke puts it, "Gráinne Hunt commands an astounding voice that will melt your heart. No crowd can resist."
