The single is taken from the Irish band's highly anticipated new album You, released on 25th January via Strange Brew.
Meltybrains? have unveiled their brand new single ‘Worth’ today, October 27th, exploring Irish male youth in the 21st century.
‘Worth’ follows the ‘Journey To/From The Meltyworld', and will appear on the outfit's new album You, out this January via Strange Brew.
‘You’ tackles what it means to be a person in the modern world, ideally signifying an internal journey to some kind of peace of mind. It’s a trip through the cosmos, to the centre of the universe and the centre of the self, and to an understanding that the two may not be that different.
The ultimate message of the new Meltybrains? album is that everyone has a similar journey to go on, and you just do it in your own way. Infusing electronic influences with a noise-rock and hip-hop production edge, the stand out track packs a mean punch.
Speaking about the new single ‘Worth’ the band says: “In The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde stated that 'the cynic knows the price of everything, but the value of nothing'. Worth is a song about value. About the financial value of material things and how that value differs, according to your situation. Ultimately it is a song about what is worthwhile in the contemporary world of money and material goods.

"It’s also a song about self-worth, which is something that no price tag can be put on," they add. "The song’s arrangement has been influenced by artists as diverse as Kanye West, Hudson Mohawke, and Hans Zimmer, it features other-worldly vocals and synths, lulling the listener into a false sense of security before the drums, bass, and strings attempt to pummel the listener into submission.”

Meltybrains? are a group of five young friends who started a band with the intention of making great music and putting on great live shows. They did just that for a number of years, creating incredibly imaginative electronic soundscapes, as well as performing highly theatrical shows with infectious, incendiary energy.
The band also gained a notorious reputation for outrageous live shows and has played in festivals and venues such as SXSW, Iceland Airwaves, and London’s St. Pancras Church, in the past.
After years of constant gigging and writing, Meltybrains? took a backseat. Various members of the group used the opportunity to work with other Irish artists, including Dermot Kennedy, Gilla Band, Denise Chaila, Loah, Lilla Vargen and Talos.
They stayed together to support each other in hard times. After a challenging number of years, Meltybrains? is returning with its debut album - You.
