Canadian metal band Witchrot have announced they will be taking an extended hiatus in an unconventional way. Detailing the messy break-up on Facebook, the band has fallen out "due to the unfortunate reality of our guitarist fucking my girlfriend of almost 7 years WITCHROT will be taking an extended hiatus."

Peter, who posted that status to the social media site, is "ripe with hate" following the events. Despite the heartbreak and betrayal, he appears thankful for the experience. Peter revealed he continue the band in the future, as "the music is slowly flowing and without a doubt will become the most devastating, torturous music I have ever created."

Peter briefly mentions at the end that Witchrot's drummer has passed away too.
