Now in its seventh year, the Meteor Awards ceremony will take place on February 1 at the Point Depot, and will be presented by Deirdre O'Kane and Podge & Rodge.
Among the nominees are The Frames, Humanzi and Snow Patrol for the category of Best Irish Band. Snow Patrol also lead the nominations for Best Irish Album, a category whiich includes The Blizzards, Director, David Kitt, The Divine Comedy and Duke Special.
Mr Special also joins The Blizzards, 747s and Director as the potential Best New Irish Act, despite having been active since 2003. Hmmm...
