Established in 2011, Mezzo Music Academy is one of Dublin's premier music schools, offering a range of private and group tuition options.
Recently relocated to a larger, purpose-built premises in Terenure, UCD Music Graduate Sonya Murphy Lyons is at the helm of the school, with over 20 years experience teaching.
Offering lessons in piano and guitar to violin, French horn, trombone and bassoon, they also provide tuition in music theory, and a music appreciation club for those who would like to develop a deeper understanding of composers and styles, stories and characters in a social group. Their evening Jam Sessions provide an hour-long opportunity for teens and adults to play off the cuff and develop their songwriting and improvisational techniques in recognizing patterns and scales. Apart from fostering creativity, and allowing students to express themselves, the classes are also fun and motivating, and are taught by established musicians/songwriters with experience in the industry.
The annual open evening for adults will take place on Wednesday, January 30th from 8 pm - 10 pm in their Terenure campus. All are welcome to attend and will have the opportunity to chat to some of the academy's accomplished tutors, try out some of their instruments, learn more about their current courses and programmes on offer as well as a chance to socialize and meet other musicians.
With complimentary refreshments on the night and a sing-a-long, whether you're taking up an instrument for the first time or dusting off the cobwebs, stop by to the opening evening to see what Mezzo Music Academy can do to help you on your musical journey.
