The new reissue will include the previously unreleased track 'Jack'
Taking to social media this afternoon, M(h)aol have announced that they've signed to independent label Merge Records, based in North Carolina.
To coincide with the announcement, Merge are reissuing the Irish band's acclaimed debut album, Attachment Styles, in North America – set to be released on November 17.
The reissue includes the previously unreleased track 'Jack', which is the first song M(h)aol wrote as a band.
“We wrote ‘Jack’ in a tiny room in a block of artist studios that definitely probably weren’t meant for music-making, so we’d have to go in at night time when everyone else was finished working,” M(h)aol's Constance Keane explains. “Having the first song you ever wrote being part of your live set every show, even eight years on, feels like quite a rare thing, so we’re really excited that ‘Jack’ is finally getting the release it deserves.”
The band – which now comprises of Constance Keane, Jamie Hyland, Zoë Greenway, and Sean Nolan, following the departure of former lead vocalist Róisín Nic Ghearailt this year – were signed to Merge following a performance at SXSW 23.
Merge's notable releases include albums by Arcade Fire, Caribou, M. Ward, She & Him, Camera Obscura, and more.
