'Therapy' is a light-hearted addition the album, dealing with very real subject matter.
Irish punk outfit M(h)aol have released a brand new single, 'Therapy', taken from their upcoming debut album Attachment Styles.
Premiered at 1pm today on the Matt Wilkinson show, the single arrives alongside the announcement that the band have signed a publishing deal with Rough Trade. M(h)aol recently supported fellow Irish outfit Gilla Band on their European tour, giving a stellar set at Dublin's National Stadium.
Based between Cork, Dublin, London, and Bristol, the band is formed of Róisín Nic Ghearailt (She/Her), Constance Keane (She/Her), Jamie Hyland (She/Her), Zoë Greenway (She/Her), and Sean Nolan (He/Him).
'Therapy' starts with a blend of guitar riffs and charismatic melodies before lead vocalist Róisín Nic Ghearailt enters the fray with her fascinating spoken word delivery.
"You know you really fucked me up, I don't think that you care / I should bill you for my therapy but I don't want your name on there," she declares.

The track follows the release of 'Asking for It', 'Bored of Men' and 'No One Ever Talks To Us' from the album as well as their Gender Studies EP.
Attachment Styles is a record about social connection, queerness and healing where the listening goes on a journey. Bassist Jamie produced, mixed, and mastered the album where she wanted to capture the live element, meaning it was recorded in one small room with no headphones, minimal drum mics, and only a PA for vocals.
Attachment Styles lands on 3rd February 2023 via TULLE Collective before M(h)aol's headline tour starts in May 2023. Tickets on sale here.
Pre-order the debut album on Bandcamp here.
Listen to 'Therapy' below. Stay tuned for an interview with M(h)aol in the February issue of Hot Press.
